At its core, Forge beyond Protocol is a Family design where Solo, Cards, Engine Building and Tile Laying mechanisms collide with programmed actions pacing for 2–4 players groups. Core turns revolve around programmed actions: commit actions, resolve conflicts, then pivot as event decks introduce 4 escalating complications. Few designs blend Family and Cards this smoothly while remaining approachable across varied player counts.
